Abstract
This descriptive research aimed to examine the association between knowledge, attitude and perception of patient safety skills of the Armed Forces nurses. One thousand and seventy nine military nurses and police nurses were recruited by stratified random sampling method. Research instruments consisted of patient safety knowledge attitude and perception of patient safety skills questionnaire which reliability were 0.68 (KR-20) 0.87 and 0.92 (Chronbach’ alpha coefficient) respectively. Data were analysed by frequency, percentage,and Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient.
The result of the association between knowledge and attitude, knowledge and perception of patient safety skills, attitude and perception of patient safety skills were positively correlated (r =0.14, p<0.01, r= 0.17, p<0.01, r= 0.64, p < 0.01) consequently.
The results of this study provided information to develop a program enhancing knowledge, attitude and skill of patient safety to promote a patient safety care for professional nurses appropriately.
Conclude The results of this study could be used as information for the development of programs for enhancing knowledge, attitudes and skills in patient safety. To promote the ability to provide appropriate safe patient care for registered nurses
