Abstract

The objectives of this research and development were 1) to study good practices, 2) to
construct the system, and 3) to analyze the results of using the instructional design and development system based on the framework of Service Mind, Analytical thinking, and Participation
(SAP) to enhance humanized care behaviors of students of Faculty of Public Health and Allied
Health Sciences. The population were 642 instructors of Praboromarajchanok Institute and
samples were 222 instructors for knowledhe sharing and 15 instructors for in-depth interview.
The researchers used Taro Yamane table, purposive sampling, and snowball technique. The
seven instructors volunteered for the implementation of this instructional design and development
system. The system was validated by five experts derived from snowball technique. The
instruments used in this study included knowledge sharing issues, an in-depth interviews form,
a guideline, a worksheet, and an evaluation form for design courses and evaluation from for
system validation. Data were collected and analyzed using Content Analysis, Mean, and Index
of Item Objective Congruence (IOC) from the experts.
It has been found that the system consisted of seven components: 1) subject contents
2) learning objectives 3) teaching strategies and activities 4) roles of teachers and learners
5) learning materials and learning resources 6) learning environment and 7) behavioral assessment methods and tools. This system also consisted of five step approach, included 28
sub-steps. It was revealed that overall the instructors could design courses that enhance humanized care behaviors at the highest level (Mean = 2.71). Specifically, the instructors were most
capable of analyzing and writing weekly behavioral objectives (Mean = 2.89), and designing
teaching and learning strategies and activities (Mean = 2.80). The lowest of instructors’ capability was determining learning resources (Mean = 2.60). The system validated by experts was
found appropriate (Mean = 0.96), and was accepted as a very good system (Mean = 3.60)
