Abstract

New public management (NPM) focused achievement motivation and outcome which comprised 7 components; 1) Hands-on professional management 2) Explicit standards and measures
of performance 3) Greater emphasis on output controls 4) Shift to disaggregation of units in the
public sector 5) Shift to greater competition in the public sector 6) Stress on private sector styles
of management practice and 7) Stress on greater discipline and parsimony in resource use and
integrated with public health system to convenience for customer in health public sector of
Ministry of Public Health to reduce hospital overcrowding and a waiting period of service. The
NPM concept can cause changing nursing service and develop nurse professional to specialist.
The article provides information about NPM concept, direction of health care service in
public sector, trends of nursing professional which to prepare the professional nurses under
Ministry of Public Health for operational planning and providing health services to clients
