Abstract

ABSTRACT
Shortage of nurse educators is a national problem, which affects the quality of
nursing education and nursing faculties. It makes nursing faculties limited nursing students both undergraduate and graduated levels in balance ratio of educators. Decreased student nurses cause decreased graduate nurse and shortage of nurses which affect National Health Care System. In addition, shortage of nurse educators also makes the remaining nurse educators work hard, burn out in works and want to resign, that makes the problem shortage of educators increased. Factors affecting in retention of nurse educators in organization are aspiration and good attitude in teaching, salary, job description, facing high expectation from agency and society, work environment, mentors, and reputation of the institute. Resolving this problems, nursing administrators should take measures that keep educators on the jobs by using appropriate tactic to select personals, improve the workplace environment, increased salary, flexible return on benefit and organize the mentor system to be concrete.
