ผลการจัดการเรียนการสอนวิชาภาษาอังกฤษ สำหรับนักศึกษาพยาบาล โดยบูรณาการกับโครงการบริการวิชาการ

                ภาษาอังกฤษมีความจำเป็นในวิชาชีพการพยาบาล  แต่พบว่าพยาบาลไทยส่วนใหญ่ ยังมีสมรรถนะด้านการใช้ภาษาอังกฤษต่ำ  การวิจัยโดยใช้วิธีการวิจัยกึ่งทดลอง(Quasi Experimental Research) แบบกลุ่มเดียววัดผลก่อนและหลัง (One group Pre-post test design) จึงจัดทำขึ้น เพื่อศึกษาผลของการจัดการเรียนการสอนวิชาภาษาอังกฤษ 2  โดยบูรณาการกับการบริการวิชาการ แก่สังคม  กลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ใช้เป็นนักศึกษาพยาบาลศาสตร์ชั้นปีที่ 2A  ของวิทยาลัยพยาบาล บรมราชชนนี  จังหวัดนนทบุรี  จำนวน 67  คน  ผลการศึกษาพบว่า

                1. ผลสัมฤทธิ์ทางการเรียนของนักศึกษาอยู่ในระดับดี

                2. สมรรถนะการใช้ภาษาอังกฤษของนักศึกษา  ตามการรับรู้ของนักศึกษาก่อนเรียนอยู่ใน ระดับต่ำ  (= 2.16, SD = 0.52) และหลังเรียนอยู่ในระดับปานกลาง(= 2.64, SD = 0.55) ส่วน อาจารย์มีการรับรู้สมรรถนะของนักศึกษาในระดับปานกลางทั้งก่อนเรียนและหลังเรียน (= 2.60, SD = 0.33 และ = 3.01, SD = 0.26 ตามลำดับ)

                3. ค่าเฉลี่ยสมรรถนะการใช้ภาษาอังกฤษภายหลังเรียนสูงกว่าก่อนเรียนอย่างมีนัยสำคัญ ทางสถิติที่ระดับ  .001  ในทุกข้อรายการ ทั้งตามการรับรู้ของนักศึกษาและอาจารย์

                4. ค่าเฉลี่ยคะแนนความพึงพอใจในการเรียนวิชาภาษาอังกฤษ 2 ของนักศึกษาอยู่ใน ระดับ มาก

                จากผลการศึกษาข้างต้นสรุปได้ว่าการจัดการเรียนการสอนแบบโครงงานในวิชา ภาษาอังกฤษ โดยบูรณาการกับโครงการบริการวิชาการ  ส่งผลให้ผลสัมฤทธิ์ทางการเรียน ของผู้เรียนโดยรวมอยู่ในระดับที่ดี มีสมรรถนะการใช้ภาษาอังกฤษดีขึ้น  และนักศึกษามีความ พึงพอใจต่อการเรียนการสอนในระดับมาก ดังนั้นจึงควรนำวิธีการเรียนแบบนี้มาพัฒนาใช้ทั้งใน วิชาภาษาอังกฤษและวิชาอื่นๆ ต่อไป

2. Students’ scores for English competency as perceived by the students were low before attending the course (= 2.16, SD = 0.52) and moderate after the course (= 2.64, SD = 0.55). The scores as perceived by the instructors were moderate for both before and after the course (= 2.60, SD = 0.33 and = 3.01, SD = 0.26, respectively).

3. A comparative statistic of paired t-test showed significant differences in the scores of students’ competency before and after attending the course with higher posttest than pretest scores for overall, all categories and all items (p<.001).

4. Mean scores of satisfaction were high for overall and all individual categories, namely Contents, Learning Activities, and Evaluation (= 3.55, SD = 0.51, = 3.52 , SD = 0.40, and = 3.73, SD = 0.57 respectively)

English is essential for the nursing profession. However, a majority of Thai nurses still have low English competency. This quasi experimental research study with a One Group Pre-Posttest design was conducted to investigate effects of integrating academic service project into English course for nursing students. The sample was composed of 68 sophomore students who enrolled in English 2 course in Academic Year 2552. A project based approach was integrated into an academic project to provide students with opportunities to practice their English in a real situation. Learning achievement, English competency and satisfactions were assessed. The research results were summarized as follows:

From the research findings, it can be seen that a participatory learning approach with integration of an academic service project could enhance students’ learning achievement, English competency, and satisfaction. Therefore, this method of learning should be improved and applied in English and other subjects.
