The innovative insulin injection aid paper

Abstract

The aims of this research and innovative development were to 1) create and develop insulin injection aid paper 2) compare the satisfaction of the innovative insulin injection aid paper against the good average. The research was conducted in two parts.  The first part was the creation and development of insulin injection aid paper. This part consisted of six steps: 1) needs analysis; 2) studying concepts, theories, related research papers and experts; 3) creating a set of insulin injection aid paper; 4) being reviewed by experts; 5) trial; and 6) developing insulin injection aid paper. The second part was the comparison of the satisfaction between the innovative insulin injection aid paper and traditional insulin injections according to opinions of the diabetics. The samples were 40 diabetic patients aged 60 years and over. Questionnaire was a research tool using for collecting data. It was examined by experts and had its confidence coefficient with 0.975. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics related to mean, frequency, standard deviation, and also using one sample t-test. The statistical significance was tested at a level of 0.05. The results found that:

1. The diabetics were able to tell the right dose of insulin by reading the insulin size indicated on the innovation and drew right insulin amount due to the color bar indicated the size of insulin injection clearly.

2. The patients with diabetes had their significant satisfaction with the innovative insulin injection aid paper at 0.05, except for the clear text and symbols of the sheet that were not statistically significant.
