Abstract

This future research aimed to develop the model for enforcing environmental health laws of local government organizations in three southern border provinces. Participants were the environmental health experts in the southern border provinces which were the representatives of local administrative organizations, Ministry of Public Health and Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment. Data were collected by in-depth interviews using in-depth interview guideline and then were verified by organizing the Connoisseurshi. Data were analyzed by content analysis and also median, mode and interquartile range.

The results revealed that the environmental health laws enforcement model could be divided into 5 issues: 1) the appropriateness of law enforcement; 2) the development of environmental health provision of local administrative organizations; 3) the development of capability of local health personnel; 4) the support of community leaders and networks for enforcing the environmental health laws; and 5) public participation.

It could be recommended that there should be the relevant agency playing to control and cooperate the enforcement of the environmental health laws of the related local organizations. In addition, the local or context information should be considered to use for making public policy and environmental health laws.
