Evaluation of the Food Safety Market Project at Sanamchaikhet Hospital, Chachoengsao Province

This descriptive research aimed to evaluate and explore the related factors for improving the operational project of food safety market at Sanamchaikhet hospital, Chachoengsao province. CIPP model of Stufflebeam was employed in this study. Participants included: 1) the food safety market working group; 2) the traders in the food safety market; and 3) the consumers in the food safety market. Data were collected by questionnaires and focus groups. Descriptive statistics and content analysis were used to analyze quantitative and qualitative data respectively. The results found that the participants had their overall perceptions of the project at high levels regarding to context aspect (M = 3.96, SD = 0.74), input aspect (M = 3.56, SD = 0.79) and output aspect (M= 3.82, SD = 0.64), while the project’s process aspect was perceived as at a middle level (M= 3.45, SD = 0.83). It could be suggested for improving the project that: 1) the traders should be registered; 2) the variety of goods should be added; 3) the agreement for trading should be revised and told to the traders; 4) the market opening day (one day more) should be considered; 5) the market advertisement should be considered; 6) the quality control process of the products should be followed the plan set; and 7) a certificate of product inspection should be issued.
