New Medical Technology for Prevention of Pressure Ulcers
Abstract
Presently, doctors and scientists around the world have invented and developed new medical technologies to prevent disease or improve health recovery in many ways. One of which is the prevention of patient pressure ulcers because it is a serious health problem for people with impaired mobility. Pressure ulcers can lead to infection, which results in higher costs for treatment. However, now a days the modern technology in medical sciences can decrease the risk of pressure ulcers in patients. The new technology used to prevent pressure ulcers which using physics including electrical stimulation of the muscles, thermal imaging of infrared waves released from the skin and tissues, measurement of pressure between the skin and the mattress and use of the patient movement sensor.
