Promotion of Virtue, Ethics and Good Governance

Abstract

         From lessons learned of the project for promoting virtue, ethics and good governance. Found that the success of the project was measured from the seminar participants of not less than 75% who gained better knowledge and understanding. The results of assessment from answers to the questionnaire were compared between the mean score of 3.84 gained before the seminar and that of 4.16 gained after the seminar. Hence, the guidelines on promoting and developing virtue and  ethics of those who take a political   position or those who are a state officer were as follows: isolating the capital  system from the politics; preventing and combating corruption and conflict of  interest, creating a control and audit  system by public participation, providing political education in line with way of life, developing mechanisms of personnel recruitment and selection, promoting and developing knowledge and   understanding of virtue and ethics, raising the awareness and extending its results. The guidelines on promoting and developing good governance in politics and administration were as follows: creating an efficient check-and-balance system, creating a political responsibility assessment system, developing a governing management system according to the rule of law,  establishing legitimacy and equality in politics, developing political and management systems for the public interest, developing a transparency in politics and administration, promoting knowledge and   understanding of good governance principles, and  developing an efficient  administrative evaluation system.
