Lanna Local Wisdom for Health Promotion of Elderly in Saluang Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Maerim District, Chiangmai Province
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to used of Lanna Local wisdom for health promotion. The sample were 269 elderly households in the area of Saluang Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Maerim District, Chiangmai Province. Data were collected by questionnaires, group discussion and in-depth interview. Means, Standard deviation, Linear regession analysis and content analysis were used for data analysis. The results indicated that the majority of elderly used of Lanna Local wisdom for health promotion at the moderate level (= 1.75). The relationship between these Lanna Local wisdom for health promotion, age, distance between their home and Saluang Tambon Health Promotion Hospital, and the needs of Lanna Local wisdom for health promotion had a statistically significant relationship (p - value 0.047 0.010 and 0.000, respectively). In conclusion, it is suggested that activities and learning sources, empowerment of health local wisdom knowledge and potential of community as to health promotion.
