Abstract

The Tham Luang cave rescue in 2018 is considered a memorable event with numerous lessons to learn from. Over the years, there have been presentations of articles and narratives that reveal what actions were taken to aid the affected individuals and how they were carried out. However, regardless of these presentations, there remains a scarcity of in-depth information concerning the principles, concepts, and decision-making processes. This article, therefore, compiles intriguing aspects related to ethical medical decision-making in disaster relief situations and the management of potential ethical conflicts that may arise. These aspects have contributed to the formulation of operational strategies, including specific details regarding the application of underwater medical knowledge.
