The Integrated Stroke Preventive Care Services for Older Persons

Abstract

          The current health services for stroke patients focuses on curative intervention in acute period to reduce mortality and prevent patients to be disabled. Older people are the high-risk group, and for the survivors it could recur at any time, so the best solution is to prevent stroke. This article aims at presenting the integrated stroke at earlier stage. preventive care services for older persons. This is a suggestion in health services that covers integrated stroke preventive care services for older persons at all 3 levels of stroke prevention which were, primary prevention, secondary prevention and tertiary prevention. The services consisted of nine components of health care services that were developed by collaborative effort working of three sectors such as, public sector, health sector and social sector. These services will encourage working for stroke prevention in older persons.
