Abstract

The development of nursing students’ 21st century skills is the important mission
of each nursing educational institute to follow the standard and the quality assurance of
the current nursing curriculum and social needs. Smart classroom technology is extensively
applied to promote learners’ 21st century skills. This article presents the background of Smart
Classroom and its essential components, the analysis of the smart classroom application
guidelines for promoting nursing students’ 21st century skills and the examples of the
instructional methods for smart classroom. And, the development plan to facilitate the smart
classroom utilization to promote the effective development of nursing students’ 21st century
skills.
