Evaluation of a Grade Point Average (GPA) Follow-up and Advising System for Undergraduate Students Who are at Risk of Retiring from being a Student Mahasarakham University

This research aims to 1) evaluate the grade point average (GPA) tracking and consulting system for undergraduate students who are at risk of student status termination, 2) to compare the opinion of undergraduate students on using the system under different faculties and years, 3) to compare the opinion of lecturers and academic affairs officers who are affiliated with faculty groups and have different working ages regarding the use of the system, and 4) to find a methodology to develop the system. The sample group used in this research are 1) 1,356 undergraduate students who are studying in the final semester of academic year 2021 and risk of student status termination and 2) 565 lecturers and academic affairs officers who work for the faculty which is obtained by simple random method. Data Collection Tools are 2 questionnaires. The statistics used in data analysis are frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and the F-test for variance (One-way ANOVA).
The results of the research found as follows : 1) Undergraduate students, lecturers, and academic affairs officers have an overall opinion on the evaluation of a grade point average (GPA) tracking and consulting system for undergraduate students who are at risk of student status termination at Mahasarakham University at a high level, 2) Students studying in different years and belonging to different groups of faculties have an opinion on the evaluation of a grade point average (GPA) tracking and consulting system for undergraduate students who are at risk of student status termination at Mahasarakham University not different in overall (p > 0.05), 3) Lecturers and academic affairs officers at the faculty level with different working ages have an overall opinion on the evaluation of a grade point average (GPA) tracking and consulting system for undergraduate students who are at risk of student status termination not different (p > 0.05), and 4) Students have proposed guidelines for developing the system to be used easily, vastly and more modern. For lecturers and academic affairs officers at the faculty level, they have proposed to have a notification system when the new messages from students arrive via social networks or mobile phone of receiver to make it more convenient to open the message immediately.
