Trends in International Publications of Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University from 2014 to 2023 in the Scopus

Abstract

            This study aims to analyze the international publication output of personnel at Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University indexed in the Scopus database between 2014 and 2023. Using SciVal, the analysis covers the number of published articles, subject areas, journal titles, research collaborations, journal quality, and citation counts. The findings reveal a consistent upward trend in publication output, with the highest number of articles published in 2023, reflecting a growing research capacity among university personnel. The Physical Sciences emerged as the most published subject area, indicating a distinct area of specialization. Notably, most articles were published in Q3 journals, totaling 101 articles (32.27%), particularly in the journal Integrated Ferroelectrics, whereas the articles published in Q1 journals was only 87 articles (27.80%).

            However, the highest number of citations was found in articles published in Quartile 1 journals, totaling 933 times. Therefore, it is advisable to promote more publications in Q1 and Q2 journals to enhance the quality of research and gain greater international recognition. The collaboration with Khon Kaen University, a key domestic partner, further underscores the strength of academic networks in advancing research to the international stage. These trends reflect both the achievements and growth opportunities in research and can inform policy decisions to support high-quality publications and guide the university’s future research direction.
