Perception, Awareness, and Risk Management of the Accident Report among the Faculty Staff at Faculty of Dentistry, Mahidol University.

Abstract

         A study of perception, awareness, and risk management on the accident report among the faculty staff at Faculty of Dentistry, Mahidol University intended to study the level of perception, awareness, and risk management and the association of those on the accident report. The questionaires (IOC index of 0.90) were used to collect data from 298 participant who are working as the faculty staff at the Faculty of Dentistry, Mahidol University. Descriptive statistics including percentage, mean, standard deviation were reported and the infential statistic was analysed using Pearson’s correlation.

         The results of the study showed that majority of 298 participant was female (69.50%), the  average age of the sample population was found to be 26-40 years of age (62.40%), education levels of the population was mostly under bachelor degree (49.00%), most of participants were university employee (43.30%) with average work experience of 6-10 years (27.20%), and the majority of participants occasionally documented the accident report (44.00%). Level of perception, awareness, and risk management on the accidemt report among the faculty staff was very high in all aspects, including the level of the awareness of faculty staff on the accident report ( = 3.89, SD = 0.63), the risk management of the accident report ( = 3.80, SD = 0.72), and the perception on the accident report ( = 3.64, SD = 0.62) respectively. This study showed significant association among perception, awareness and risk management of the participants to the accident report at the significance level of .01
