A Study of Factors Affecting the Decision Making of Entrepreneurs on the Selection of Graduates to Work Case Study of the Faculty of Science Graduates, Mahasarakham University Academic year 2019

Abstract

            This study was aimed at studying the factors related to the decision making of entrepreneurs on the selection of graduates to work, a case study of the faculty of Science graduates, Mahasarakham University for the academic year 2019. The data were collected from 138 graduates from the Faculty of Science. The research instrument was a questionnaire to study the factors affecting the decision making of entrepreneurs on the selection of graduates to work. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics such as frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. 

            The result of this study revealed that there were three main factors affecting the decision making of entrepreneurs on the selection of graduates to work in the case study of the Faculty of Science graduates, Mahasarakham University, the academic year 2019, namely 1) personality 2) presentation and communication, and 3) professional competence. Therefore, personality development, as well as presentation and communication, are the things that the faculty should prioritize in producing graduates. Since both public and private entrepreneurs pay special attention to such factors, the faculty should increase their skills or focus more on practice, focusing on the development of student's personality. Current students should be encouraged to practice presenting their work in front of the class or have an opportunity to present their work that allows them to communicate with others. In addition, the faculty should focus on academic competence or skills of each field, including laboratory practice in order to increase students' scientific knowledge and skills.
