The outcome of using the google calendar program for organizing of working tasks of the orthopedics staff and the effect on satisfaction

Arrangement of teaching schedules for the 5th year medical students in Orthopedics and Rehabilitation Medicine I (RAID 514) had superimposed with other work. We aimed to study the effect of using google calendar program in the scheduling of orthopedic curriculum in terms of postponing and satisfactions of students and teaching staffs. A retrospective cohort was conducted between the academic year 2015 and 2019. Medical teachers and the 5th-year students experienced users of google calendar were included. Time of calendar use, time and date of teaching, postpone rate, and satisfactions were collected. From 110 participants, 72.7% were aged 20-30 years, and 59.1% were male. Medical students contributed 74.6%, and medical teachers were 25.4%. Postpone rate after calendar use (14.2%) was lower than that before calendar use (16.0%). While satisfaction of medical students after calendar use (95.9%) significantly higher than prior usage (88.4%) with p-value = 0.001. Fifty-nine percent of participants satisfied google calendar for scheduling (good to excellent level). Using the google calendar program for scheduling management in Orthopedics and Rehabilitation Medicine I (RAID 514) can reduce postpone rate. Medical teachers, and students have more satisfaction after using this program.
