A Study on the Needs of Faculty Members of the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital during the Research Data from Publications and Research Data from Media Online

Abstract

         This paper aimed at studying places that faculty members access to research data, and a level of needs of the faculty members for researching data from a library of Learning Resource Administration Division, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University. There were two types of research source in this research: publication and online electronic media. Samples were 151 faculty members of Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital. Respondents were willing to answer the questionnaire. A statistic used for analysis was a percentage.

         The result of survey indicated that, in terms of the places where the faculty members access to research data, those faculty members looked for sources within and outside the faculty, but mostly the faculty members searched for sources within the faculty. Regarding to the level of needs for researching data, findings revealed that most of the faculty members needed more online electronic journals and textbooks written in English than online electronic journals and textbooks written in Thai, and needed more online electronic journals and textbooks written in English  than published journals and textbooks written in Thai.
