Abstract

Purposes: To study the effects of nursing practice guideline for anesthesia in thoracic surgery patients at Roi Et hospital.

Study design: Quasi – experimental research.

Material and Methods: The sample comprised 33 professional nurses working in the Anesthetic Nursing Department and 33 thoracic surgical patients receiving anesthesia at Roi Et Hospital. The experimental instrument was the clinical nursing practice guideline for thoracic surgical anesthesia. Data collection instruments included a demographic questionnaire, a nursing activities implementation record, and a satisfaction assessment form. Statistical Analysis Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, paired t-test, Univariable analysis and Multivariable analysis. p<.05

Main finding:There was a statistically significant difference in nursing activity implementation according to the clinical nursing practice guideline for thoracic surgical anesthesia (p<.001). Nursing activity implementation for monitoring post-anesthetic complications in thoracic surgical patients also showed a statistically significant difference (p < .001). Additionally, the satisfaction of healthcare nurses toward the implementation of the clinical nursing practice guideline for thoracic surgical anesthesia demonstrated a statistically significant difference (p=.001).

Conclusion and recommendations: The implementation of the clinical nursing practice guideline for thoracic surgical anesthesia at Roi Et Hospital enabled nurse providers in the Department of Anesthesiology to effectively adhere to the established guideline, demonstrating concrete evidence and standardized practice in a unified direction.
