The Effects of Childbirth Preparation Program on Perceptions with Birth Experience among the First Time Mothers in Phonthong Hospital

Purposes : To compare perceptions with birth experience among the first time mothers in Phonthong Hospital.
Study design : Quasi-experimental research; Two groups posttest design with non-equivalent.
Materials and Methods : A total of 50 mothers were samples who came for antenatal care and planned birth at Phon Thong Hospital who came for antenatal care from March to August, 2023 and must meet to be eligible for study on inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data were collected using a recording form. And the experience perception assessment with a reliability of 0.94. Data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and Student's t-test.
Main findings : After the intervention, mothers who gave birth for the first time had a significantly higher mean scores of perceptions with birth experience among the first time mothers of overall than the control group (p<.001), with an mean scores higher than 1.22 (95%CI: 0.92, 1.51).
Conclusion and recommendations : Delivery room nurses should organize supportive activities during the delivery period, both emotional and mental Information and comfort and safety to help reduce fear and promote awareness of a good birthing experience for those who give birth.
