Related Factors with Stress in Pregnancy at Tertiary care center

Purposes : To study the factors associated with stressful feelings among pregnant women attending antenatal care at Chao Phraya Yommarat Hospital.
Study design : Cross-sectional study.
Material and Methods : Cross-sectional study was conducted from July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021 among pregnancy attending antenatal care at Chao Phraya Yommarat Hospital. The pregnant were interviews using a structures questionnaire which included demographic data, serious life event data, and Thai language version of 10-item Perceived Stress Scale (T-PSS-10) to assess perceived stress symptoms. Using Multiple logistic regression analysis to analyze factors related to feelings of stress.
Main findings : Pregnant women attending prenatal care who are employed are 2.21 times more likely to experience stress than those who are studying or unemployed (Adjusted OR=2.21, 95%CI: 1.13–4.30, p=.020). Those in a trading or self-employed business are 2.89 times more likely to experience stress than those who are studying or unemployed (Adjusted OR=2.89, 95%CI: 1.07–7.81, p=.037). Pregnant women whose husbands work in other occupations are more likely to have stress. The odds of having stress are 4.85 times greater than those whose husband is studying or unemployed (Adjusted OR=4.85, 95%CI: 1.05–22.47, p=.044). Pregnant women who are obese have a higher chance of having stress than those with an index. Normal body mass 1.82 times (Adjusted OR=1.82, 95%CI: 1.02–3.24, p=.042) and pregnant women who have arguments or misunderstandings with their husbands are 10.01 more likely to have stress than those who do not have this problem. times (Adjusted OR=10.01, 95%CI: 3.34–30.03, p<.001).
Conclusion and recommendations : The prevalence of perceived stress symptoms in antenatal pregnancy was 36.70%. Perceives stress symptoms was significantly associated with divorce, separation from spouse, physical or psychological trauma from family, marital conflict, and family conflict.
