Development of Surgery System and Patients Care of One Day Surgery : ODS in Suwannaphum Hospital

Abstract

Purposes : To investigate a situation, develop a surgery system and evaluate results of  surgery system and patients care of One Day Surgery in Suwannaphum hospital.

Study design : Mutual collaborative action research.

Materials and Methods : 34 of key informants were patients who received surgical services, service providers, and the main responsible persons. Data were collected using questionnaires. and questions guideline for group discussion. Data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and % differences.

Main findings : Analysis of situation revealed that operations have problems in three areas: service system, personnels, and materials/equipments; Service system development had continuous quality development under two operational research cycles, and The evaluation stage found that Key informants had to preoperative, intraoperative and post operative a surgery/procedures with overall service system compliance increased by 67.5%, 60.2%, and 90.9%, respectively.

Conclusion and recommendations : This research has resulted in continuous development of the system and increased access to services by service recipients.
