The Development of the Participation on Service care Model for Long Term Care with Dependent Elderly in Atsamat Network, Roi Et Province

Abstract

Purpose : To develop of participation on service care model for Long Term Care in Atsamat network.

Study design : Participatory Action Research : PAR

Materials and Methods : The operation for the dependent elderly, the relatives, the local government organization officer, Health officer, Health volunteers, Head of the community ,Caregiver (CG) and Care Manager (CM),there are 327 persons. The materials in the study are the In-depth interview, focus group, observation for non-participation, document review, ADL assessment form and LTC assessment form. The study has 3 phase. 1) Study the context and situation for the dependent elderly in the community, feedback for develop the Participation on Service care Model for Long Term Care design with the participation network. 2) Plan to action and develop the system to move the LTC system by the participation network. 3) Evaluation phase. The quality data analyze the content analysis and the quantity data by the descriptive statistic. The study is on October 2019-September 2020.

Main findings : Before the development. The LTC service system loss of the community and network participation. The local organization and CM are not confident for work and the management of the local organization are not understand about LTC system because the regularity is not clearly. There are 45.45% local organization are not operated LTC, loss of the family and community participation on the dependent elderly. After the development has the model to move care management in LTC. The dependent elderly in bed turned to the elderly in home 17.50%, in social 22.72% and LTC fund can move on 100%. The dependent elderly had the ADL level are increasing 67.28% ,has the elderly care innovation, had the community and network participation for elderly care are increasing.

Conclusion and recommendations : the Participation on Service care Model  for Long Term Care  with Dependent Elderly in Atsamat Network is integrated by the local government organization, the community, the public health officer. The lesson learned and the knowledge sharing are important for develop and move the operation. Resulting in participation for LTC in continuous and sustainable in the community.
