Development of a New Normal Tuberculosis Management Guideline In Chaturaphakphiman Hospital

Abstract

Purposes : Development of new normal Tuberculosis (TB) management guideline in Chaturaphakphiman Hospital, Roi- Et.

Study design : Research and development design

Materials and Methods : The research were divided into 2 loops: the first loop was development of guidelines. TB management in a new normal by reviewing literature and exploring problems from  target group. Second loop was the implementation of new TB management approach using action research. 150 of participants consisted of tuberculosis patients, mentors and networks who met the inclusion criteria. Collect data using questionnaires. Data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation.

Main findings : New approaches to managing tuberculosis Its consisted of steps (1) reviewing the literature (2) surveying the condition, problems and needs of cured tuberculosis patients, and TB patients undergoing treatment; (3) drafting guidelines for patient care; (4) developing and improving patient care guidelines; and (5) implementing guidelines for implementation and evaluation. As for evaluation results, it was found that TB patients had scores on TB knowledge and efficacy. An overall increase of 5.77%, 7.45%, TB group mentor had an overall TB knowledge and practice score of 9.45%, 9.45%. TB patient network had TB knowledge and practice. Overall, an increase of 17.16%, 3.34%, respectively.

Conclusion and recommendations : The results of this research resulted in tuberculosis patient mentors and networks have knowledge points, self awareness and implementation of treatment plan increased, so relevant agencies This approach should be implemented in the next area.
