Effects of Nursing Practice Guideline for Anesthesia Open Heart Surgery Patients at Roi Et Hospital

Purposes : Comparison of mean oxygen saturation percentage (SpO2), mean arterial pressure (MAP) in open heart surgery patients before and after anesthesia. Develop anesthesia nursing practice guideline for open heart surgery patients. And study the results of using anesthesia nursing practices guideline in open heart surgery patients.
Study design : Quasi-experimental research, one group pre-post test.
Materials and Methods : The sample consisted of 15 anesthetist nurses and patients undergoing open heart surgery, according to the specified qualifications, there were 32 people. The tool used to collect data were a general information questionnaires. Nursing process recording form and result recording form from using nursing practice guideline for open heart patients developed by the researcher. Data analyzed by frequency distribution, percentage, mean, standard deviation and t-test for dependent samples or Paired Sample t-test with statistical significance level set at .05 level.
Main findings : All patients were safe and did not experience any dangerous complications during or after anesthesia. The mean percentage of oxygen saturation (SpO2) and mean arterial pressure (MAP) were higher in open heart surgery patients after anesthesia than before receiving anesthesia.
Conclusion and recommendations : Research results show that the use of anesthesia nursing practices guideline in open heart surgery patients results in patient safety outcomes. Satisfaction of patients and anesthesia nurses. Therefore, the use of nursing practices guideline developed from this research should be promoted further.
