The Effects of Surveillance and Psychiatric Care by Community on Health Belief Perception as Village Health Volunteers in Thung Khao Luang

Purposes : To compare perception of health belief model of village health volunteer in Thung Khao Luang District.
Study design : Quasi-experimental Study
Materials and Methods : A total of 63 samples were village health volunteers (VHVs), which were obtained from cluster random sampling, conducted from March to June 2023. Data were collected using a questionnaire with a reliability of 0.83 and a discriminant power between 0.25-0.76 Data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and Paired t-test. Statistical significance was set at 95% confidence interval.
Main finding : After the experiment, it was found that the samples had a significantly higher mean score of perception of health belief model than before the experiment (p<.001), with an mean score of 2.38 higher (95%CI: 2.26, 2.50). ; The mean participation incentive score was significantly higher than before the experiment (p<.001), with the mean score being 2.22 higher (95%CI: 2.05, 2.37), and the mean participation behavior score being higher than before the experiment was statistically significant (p<.001) with a mean score of more than 2.04 points (95%CI: 1.91, 2.16).
Conclusion and recommendations : The results of this research resulted in samples being surveillance of health belief patterns. Therefore, related agencies should continue to use this program to monitor and care for schizophrenia.
