Factors affecting Quality of Life of The Elderly Nong Yang Chin Sub-district, Renu Nakhon District, Nakhon Phanom Province

Abstract

Purposes : To study the quality of life characteristics and to study factors affecting the quality of life of the elderly In Nong Yang Chin Subdistrict, Renu Nakhon District, Nakhon Phanom Province         

Study design : Survey research.

Materials and Methods : 518 population and sample is an elderly person in Nong Yang Chin Sub-district. Analyze personal data such as age range and sex using descriptive statistics. Frequency, Percentage, Mean and Standard deviation and Factors associated with quality of life were analyzed using multiple logistic regression, with statistical significance set at 95% confidence interval.

Main findings : 518 person were 302(58.30%) female, 326(62.9%) 60-69 years, 285(55.0%) were married, 355(68.5%) primary education, 481(92.9%) an income less than 10,000 baht, 493(95.2%1) welfare the state, 232(44.8%) live with sons/daughters, everyone has caretaker and members of the elderly club and 411(79.3%) underlying disease. The quality of life elderly The overall level was very high and Factors related to quality of elderly consisted statistically significant (p<.05) of gender, underlying diseases, physical health scores and the environment

Conclusion and recommendations : The findings of this research indicate that variables are related to a quality of life of elderly. Therefore, this variable should be used in design project of health promotion programs for elderly.
