Efficiency of Behavioral Health Case to Change Health Habits of Patients with Diabetes Who Cannot Control Sugar Levels

Abstract

Purpose : To develop Behavioral Health case to change health habits and study efficiency of case behavior.

Materials and Methods: Quasi Experiential research by sampling Taro Yamene. A group of patients who received outpatient diabetes clinic in the hospital Thung Khao Luang and 5 Tambon Health Promoting Hospitals who have sugar levels in blood or HbA1c>7 patients who received blood annual meeting followed the treatment of 100 people. By conducting a health knowledge assessment first and providing individual health knowledge on food, drug use and physical exercise for patients to record themselves for reduces sugar levels in blood for 2 months then HbA1c assessment uses basic statistics to compare the mean percentage after the t-test.

Main findings: It was found that after the development of the knowledge and understanding of health scores, the diabetic patients had more knowledge than before the development (p<0.001) knowledge scores increased for  1.28 points (95% CI : 0.98,1.57). Health service access score and self-management after the development of diabetes patients have access to health service access score and self-management increased more than before development (p<0.001). By health service access score and self-management have increased for 0.73 points (95% CI : 0.53,0.92). and the decision scores exercises after the development, it was found that Diabetic patients have more accurate on decision scores(p=0.001). By decision scores increased for 0.23 points (95% CI : 0.9,0.38). Health behavior score after behavioral health case have increased (p=0.003). By Health behavior score increased for 0.27 points (95% CI : 0.09,0.45). then compare the sugar level Hb A1c after behavioral health case found that sugar level Hb A1c decrease by 0.1 for patients with diabetes sugar level Hb A1c>7 from 100 people. after development Hb A1c decrease to Hb A1c<7 for 40 people.

Conclusion and recommendations : Behavioral Health case to change health habits of patients with diabetes  suitable to be used in diabetic patients who cannot control sugar levels Thung Khao Luang, Roi-Et Province.
