This descriptive research aimed to examine the relationship between job empowerment and supervisoryactivities as perceived by after-hours nursing supervisors at general hospitals. The sample included 290 afterhoursnurse supervisors working at 13 general hospitals in northeastern Thailand. Instruments used included aquestionnaire regarding demographic data, job empowerment and supervisory activities of after- hours supervisors.The content validity of job empowerment and supervisory activities, tested by five experts, was 0.95 and 0.95respectively. Data was analyzed using Pearson product-moment correlation coefficients and descriptive statisticsfor frequencies, mean and standard deviation.The study findings revealed that the overall mean score of perceived job empowerment of after- hoursnurse supervisors was at a moderate level ( = 3.43, SD=0.59) with the power aspect at a high level ( = 3.53,SD=0.58). Besides that the opportunity aspect was found to be at a moderate level ( =3.24,SD=0.69) Allaspects of supervisory activities were at a high level achieved the mean score of 3.9. Furthermor the study founda statistically significant relationship between perceived job empowerment and supervisory activities at a 0.01significance level (r=.547).
