The objectives of this descriptive research were to study the level of quality of life (QOL) of patient-caregiver dyads during the period of chemotherapy and to study the relationship between QOL among cancer patients receiving chemotherapy and of their family caregivers. A sample of 68 patient-caregiver dyads was met the inclusion criteria. The instruments used to collect the data were comprised of the demographic questionnaire of the patients and their caregivers, and the Thai version of World Health Organization QOL (WHOQOL -BREF–THAI). The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, and Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation Coefficient. The results of the study showed that the overall quality of life and all domains except environmental aspects of the cancer patients receiving chemotherapy and their caregivers, were at a moderate level. In addition, the quality of life of the patients and of their caregivers was not associated significantly (r = .18, p> .05). The findings of the present study suggest that healthcare providers should assess QOL of patient-caregiver dyads in all phases of chemotherapy treatment. It will provide basic information to plan for promoting QOL of the patients and their caregivers in the future appropriately.
