Abstract

The purposes of this research were to identify the attitude towards the notification of the Ministry of Public Health on requirement of location, equipment and community pharmacy practices in   modern drug pharmacy under the Medicines Act B.E. 2557 (2014) in Mukdahan province and to identify the practical compliance with the notification of Ministry of Public Health on requirement of location, equipment and community pharmacy practices in modern drug pharmacy under the Medicines Act B.E. 2557 (2014) in Mukdahan province including to study the relationship between attitude and practical compliance with this notification.


This study used a descriptive research design.  The population of this research were  the modern drug   sale licensed holders. All of the population total of 42 cases in Mukdahan province  were authorized before the Ministerial Regulations come into force. (Authorized before June 25, B.E. 2557 (2014)) There were 42 cases that completed and sent back their questionnaires.


The research instrument was questionnaire which tested for content validity with Conbrach’s Alpha Coefficient of 0.9898 accordingly with the components. Statistical  analysis were frequency distribution, mean, percentage, standard deviation, Pearson Chi-Square. and the Kendall's tau-b. 


                    Major research findings were as follow: the attitude and The practical compliance following the notification of the Ministry of Public Health on requirement of location, equipment and community pharmacy practices in the modern drug pharmacy under the Medicines Act B.E. 2557 (2014) were at a very high level.  Attitudes were positively correlated at relatively high levels in the same direction with the practical compliance of the notification of the Ministry of Public Healthon requirement of location, equipment and community pharmacy practices in the modern drug pharmacy under the Medicines Act B.E. 2557 (2014) and were statistically significant at the 0.01 with Pearson Chi-Square coefficient and Kendall's tau-b test statistic value was 0.793. The location and equipment obstacles were limited area and budget constraints.The community pharmacy practice obstacle in the modern drug pharmacy were the lack of pharmacist on duty through the open hour of pharmacy and unable to report the up-to-date drug usage report including the increasing of cost of the pharmacists and store managers. 


Employment.


For the suggestions for location and equipment this notification  should be  reduced the standard size of the pharmacy area and the opaque materials which use for cover dangerous drugs and should be replaced by locking the locker/glass cabinet with key when the pharmacist was not on duty. The suggestions for community pharmacy practice notification on the full time pharmacists  required to every pharmacy should be strongly regulated. The pharmacy must be closed if there is no pharmacist on duty. The pharmacist  who works in the government service must not own the pharmacy. The provincial health office should support and facilitate the regional pharmacy by arrange the seminar or conference.
