ความชุกและปัจจัยเสี่ยงต่อภาวะข้อเข่าเสื่อมของผู้สูงอายุในภาคตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือของประเทศไทย

การวิจัยครั้งนี้เป็นการศึกษาเชิงพรรณนาเพื่อศึกษาความชุกของภาวะข้อเข่าเสื่อมและปัจจัยเสี่ยงต่อภาวะข้อเข่าเสื่อมของผู้สูงอายุในภาคตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือของประเทศไทย กลุ่มตัวอย่างเป็นผู้สูงอายุที่มีอายุ 60 ปีขึ้นไป จำนวน 1,609 คน จาก 8 ชุมชน ในเขตภาคตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือ โดยการสุ่มกลุ่มตัวอย่างแบบหลายขั้นตอน เครื่องมือวิจัย คือ แบบสอบถาม วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยใช้สถิติเชิงพรรณนาและการวิเคราะห์แบบถดถอยพหุขั้นตอน
ผลการศึกษาพบว่ากลุ่มตัวอย่างมีโอกาสที่จะเป็นโรคข้อเข่าเสื่อม ร้อยละ 30.88 (95% CI 28.54 - 33.30) และปัจจัยเสี่ยงต่อภาวะข้อเข่าเสื่อมของผู้สูงอายุในภาคะวันออกเฉียงเหนือ ได้แก่ ดัชนีมวลกาย (OR = 2.12, 95% CI 1.51 - 2.98, p-value<0.001) ความเสี่ยงต่อการรู้คิดบกพร่อง (OR = 3.97, 95% CI 3.04 - 5.20, p-value<0.001), อาการปวดเข่า (OR = 15.32, 95% CI 11.63-20.19, p-value<0.001) และความสามารถในการทำกิจวัตรประจำวัน (OR = 4.76, 95% CI 2.16 - 10.52, p-value< 0.001) ส่วนความเสี่ยงต่อภาวะหกล้ม (OR = 0.60, 95% CI 0.45 - 0.80, p-value = 0.001) เป็นปัจจัยป้องกัน ดังนั้น ผู้ให้บริการสุขภาพจึงควรจัดทำโปรแกรมการป้องกันภาวะข้อเข่าเสื่อมโดยคำนึงถึงปัจจัยดังกล่าว
