การแพทย์แผนจีนกับการทูตสุขภาพ: การขยายบทบาทและการยอมรับในลอสแองเจลิส

บทคัดย่อ
การแพทย์แผนจีนได้รับการยอมรับเพิ่มขึ้นอย่างต่อเนื่องในหลายประเทศทั่วโลกรวมถึงสหรัฐอเมริกา บทความนี้มุ่งวิเคราะห์การบูรณาการศาสตร์ดังกล่าวเข้าสู่ระบบสุขภาพสหรัฐฯ โดยใช้ลอสแองเจลิสเป็นกรณีตัวอย่าง ผ่านการวิเคราะห์เอกสารและเก็บข้อมูลภาคสนาม เพื่อสำรวจปัจจัยสนับสนุนและข้อจำกัดในการยอมรับ ผลการศึกษาพบว่าการแพทย์แผนจีนได้รับการรับรองทางกฎหมายและสถาบันสำคัญ โดยเฉพาะการฝังเข็มที่ได้รับการบรรจุในระบบ Medicare และบริการสุขภาพของกองทัพ อีกทั้งมีส่วนช่วยลดค่าใช้จ่ายและเพิ่มการเข้าถึงบริการสุขภาพในกลุ่มชาติพันธุ์ที่หลากหลาย นอกจากนี้ ลอสแองเจลิสยังนำศาสตร์ดังกล่าวมาใช้เป็นเครื่องมือการฑูตสุขภาพ ผ่านความร่วมมือทางวิชาการกับจีน บทความนี้เสนอว่า ประเทศไทยสามารถนำแนวทางนี้ไปประยุกต์ใช้ในการบูรณาการการแพทย์แผนจีนเข้าสู่ระบบสุขภาพ เพื่อลดปัญหาการเข้าถึงบริการ ส่งเสริมมาตรฐานวิชาชีพ และเพิ่มศักยภาพทางเศรษฐกิจสุขภาพผ่านความร่วมมือระหว่างประเทศ
