Abstract

The goal of orthodontic treatment is to achieve facial esthetics and proper teeth alignment, to improve occlusion and occlusal stability. In addition, patient satisfaction after treatment is essential. This article reviewed a theory about patient satisfaction in marketing terms, overall patient satisfaction and factors related to satisfaction. Many articles showed a high overall satisfaction score after orthodontic treatment among patients. The positive relationship between orthodontists and patients was found to be associated with high patient satisfaction. Patients with high neuroticism and pain during treatment were related to low patient satisfaction after treatment. Further study of the factors is needed.
