Abstract

In orthodontic, esthetic tolerance of malocclusion refers to the highest severity of malocclusion that can be accepted by an observer. The patient’s esthetic tolerance of malocclusion is considerably important in determining orthodontic treatment acceptance and co-operation. Esthetic tolerance is affected by gender, age, education level, quality of life, social status and self-recognition of malocclusion. This review gathers information regarding the esthetic tolerance of malocclusion and clinical implication.
