Supporting condition of fire prevention and extinguishing follow up the Building Control Act B.E.2522: a case study of shop house in an area responsibility of Talat Phlu Fire Station

Abstract
This research aims to study the supporting condition of fire prevention and extinguishing follow up the Building Control Act B.E.2522. The qualitative method has been used to collect data from 16 key informants living in an area responsibility of Talat Phlu Fire Station, Bangkok Fire and Rescue Department. This research uses purposive sampling. A research means is semi-structured interview which is approved by triangulation. The result shows that the supporting conditions to enforce the Building Control Act B.E.2522 are as following: 1) Understanding the basic prevention and extinguishing; 2) Law enforcement; and 3) Active participating in government agency’s activities. Moreover, they can prepare themselves for fire protection, then trust in fire prevention and extinguishing plan. This research is useful to explain the phenomena and problem of legal enforcement, people participation, and public policy in the future.
