Preventive Behaviors to Motorcycle Accidents among Food Delivery Drivers in Mueang Sikai Sub-District, Warin Chamrap District, Ubon Ratchathani Province

Abstract
This cross-sectional descriptive study aims :1) to investigate preventive behaviors; and a ssociated factors toward motorcycle accidents among 70 Grab food and Food panda riders in Muang Si Khi Sub-District, Warin Chamrap District, Ubon Ratchathani Province. Data were obtained using a questionnaire which content validity was evaluated and reliability was measured using Cronbach’s alpha (the coefficient is greater than 0.70 for all parts). Frequency, percentage, and Chi-square test were used to analyze factors influencing accident prevention behaviors among the riders. The results revealed that motorcycle accident prevention practices was at the moderate level (51.43%) (= 2.77, S.D. = 0.154). It was also found that 64.29% of the riders had been fined for traffic violations. The most common of which were driving without a helmet, driving without a motorcycle license, and running red lights (44.28%, 24.28%, and 7.14%, respectively). The research also found that accident experiences and accident risk perceptions had a statistically significant relationship with accident prevention behaviors (p= .030 and 0.003, respectively). Therefore, concerned agencies should promote safe riding practices among food delivery motorcycle riders and encourage them to comply with traffic laws to ensure road safety for themselves and other road users.
