Comparison of the Administration of Section Head Nurses and Desirable Administration of Practice Nurses in the Navanakorn Hospital

Abstract
The objectives of this research were to: (1) study personal characteristics, (2) study levels of sectional and desirable management, and (3) compare management between sectional and desirable management of hospital. The population was 129 nursing practitioners in Navanakorn Hospital, Pathum Thani Province. They were divide into two groups : Section head nurses and practice nurses. The research instrument were questionnaire with reliability value of 0.959 which consisted of 2 parts, 1) personal characteristics, and 2) levels of sectional and desirable hospital management. Returning rate of the questionnaires was 78.92%. The data with normal distribution were analyzed with analysis of variance and independent t-test while those with non-normal distribution ones with Mann-Whitney U Test and Kruskal-Wallis Test. The ffindings of this research were that: (1) most of the practice nurses were female (80.2%), with average age of 30.738 years, single status (69.7%), bachelor degree (78.2%) average working time of 3.57 years, and working in in-patient department (31.7%), (2) total desirable management based on the practice nurse’ opinion was at the medial level. Classifying by item, the practice nurse wanted desirable management at the high level in all items in accordance with the head nurse. The most desirable management was controlling, followed by commanding, and planning, respectively. Organizing was at the lowest level. The opinions of total section management among the practice nurse and the head nurse in Navanakorn Hospital were statistical significance difference, and (3) opinion comparison based on personal characteristics between the practice nurse the head nurse in terms of section and desirable hospital management were found that the and the head nurse based on working experience had different opinions with statistical significance. Classifying by item, the opinions of section management among the practice nurse were at the low level whereas those of the section chiefs ware at the high level.
