Use of Information Technology for Evidence-based Practice among Registered Nurses at Bhumibol Adulyadej Hospital

Abstract
The Objectives of this survey research were to study 1) the information literacy, acceptance of information technology and the use of information
technology behavior for evidence-based practice among registered nurses at Bhumibol Adulyadej Hospital, and 2) relationships between personal
factors, information literacy, acceptance of information technology, and information technology usage behavior for the evidence-based practice
among the nurses. The research population was 534 nurses who work in the inpatient department at Bhumibol Adulyadej Hospital, 336 of them were stratified random sampled. Data were collected by a questionnaire with the reliability values for information literacy, acceptance of information technology, and information technology usage behavior of 0.89-0.94. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistic, Chi-Square test and Pearson correlation coefficient.
The research results showed that 1) nurses had a high level in the use of information technology behavior for evidence-based practice. They had a high level of information literacy and acceptance of information technology, and 2) the personal factors in an aspect of work department was significantly related to the information technology usage behavior for evidence-based nursing practice, at 0.05 level. The information literacy and acceptance of information technology aspects were significantly related to the information technology usage behavior for
evidence-based nursing practice, at 0.001 level.
