The Result of Easy Asthma Clinic at Maharach Hospital Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province

Abstract

     This study was descriptive research and retrospective study to analyze and compare level of asthma control, emergency visit and hospitalization rate of asthmatic patient who attended Easy asthma Clinic by using data records in the first day of treatment, 6 month, 12 month and 24 month after clinic’s operation. The data analysis used statistics: percentage, mean, standard deviation and pair t-test. The results showed that a total of 111 asthma patients were 37.8% male and 62.2% female. The comparison of result before and after treatment in 6, 12, 24 month from the asthma clinic was made the patient did not have asthmatic attack at day time were 47.7%, 56.8%, 75.7% and 78.4%. The patient did not have asthmatic attack at night time were 36.0%, 42.3%, 58.6%, 59.5%. Drug use for relieving asthma symptoms were 46.8%, 47.7%, 55.0%, 42.3%. Emergency visit decreased from 54.1% to 16.2%, 2.7%, 2.7% and hospitalization decreased from 18.9% to 4.5%, 0.9% and 0%. The comparison of emergency visit and hospitalization were significant at the 0.05 level. Peak expiratory flow was significant at the 0.05. Clinical outcome measured by level of asthma control was done before and after management in asthmatic patients uncontrol at the first day of treatment, 6 month, 12 month and 24 month decreased from 81.1% to 27.9%, 10.8% and 5.4%.
     The study showed that after the treatment from easy asthma clinic at Maharach Hospital the patient received a better effective treatment when compared to the pre clinic condition.
