Confrmatory Factor Analysis of Siam Laughter Therapy Beneft

Abstract

ABSTRACT

This Survey Research aimed to examine the consistency of factors of Siam Laughter
therapy beneft developed by Wanlop Piyamanotham at Baan Tachang Community,
Wattananakorn district, Sakaew province, Thailand. The sample group of 179 residents
were selected by purposive sampling and then were volunteered to this research.
The success of Siam Laughter therapy were collected by questionnaire with 5 levels of
Likert scale. Success content of Index of Item Objective Congruence: IOC was validity
by three experts. It reliability was 0.84 by Cranach’s alpha coeffcient. Data collection
was in May 2018 and were analysed by descriptive statistics: percentage, and mean.
The confrmatory factor analysis was used to test the causal relationship of the Laughter
Siam therapy benefts (LISREL8.53).
Results revealed that:
1. The sample were mostly female (82.68 %), 54 year’s old, primary education
(65.36%) and agriculturist (60.33%).
2. Siam Laughter therapy benefts had 5 elements: 1) Relationships, 2) Physical
health, 3) positive thinking, 4) vitality, and 5) Emotion (weighted of element = 0.91, 0.79,
0.74, 0.72, and 0.71 respectively).
3. The results of the examination of Siam Laughter therapy benefts with empirical
data showed that: χ2 = 7.47, df = 4, p = 0.11, GFI = 1.00, CFI =1.00, AGFI = 0.94 RMSEA =
0.07 and RMR = 0.007. The variables in the factors of Siam Laughter therapy beneft were
consistent with the empirical data.
This study showed that the concept of Siam Laughter therapy benefts can create
good health that is suitable for people of all ages. This can be seen from the participants
of Siam laughter event with a variety of ages
