สถาบันผลิตกำลังคนด้านการพยาบาลและการสาธารณสุขที่สำคัญของกระทรวงสาธารณสุข คือ สถาบันพระบรมราชชนก ซึ่งเป็นองค์กรที่พัฒนามาอย่างต่อเนื่องจาก "กองงานวิทยาลัยพยาบาล" มาเป็น "สถาบันพัฒนากำลังคนด้านสาธารณสุข" และ "สถาบันพระบรมราชชนก" การเป็นองค์กรวิชาการสิ่งที่ขาดไม่ได้คือ วารสารวิชาการ ซึ่งได้จัดทำมาตั้งแต่ปี 2530 จนถึงปัจจุบันเป็นเวลา 26 ปี บทความวิชาการนี้จะกล่าวถึงพัฒนาการของวารสาร ตั้งแต่ อดีต สถานภาพปัจจุบันและการพัฒนาในอนาคต

Abstract
Praboromarajchanok Institute is a core institute to educate the health personal of nurse and public health for the Ministry of Public Health for at least 6 decades. In the past, the institute was continuously developed from time to time.  Along with such development, the name of the institute was changed in order to fit the new developed organization.  The first name was "nursing college job division".  Later, with the reorganized of organization in the Ministry of Public Health, the second named was "The Public Health Institute of Manpower development".  As the Ministry of Public Health reorganization the Second time, the Institute name was then changed in honor to the King father's which is also known as the Praboromarajchanok Institute of Health Manpower Development (PBRI).  During the development of the organization of the Public Health, it academic was developed through academic journal, as one important sub-organization of the Institute, has been constituted since 1987.  For about 26 years of experiences, this paper gathered those since it beginning, current and the journal future.
