Factors Influencing Preventive Health Behavior towards Chronic Non-Communicable Diseases among Working Age Population in Health Region 4, Ministry of Public Health

Abstract

This research was aimed to study factors influencing preventive health behaviors 3Aor 2Sor, towards chronic non-communicable diseases (NCDs) among working age population in health region 4, Ministry of public health. The research model is survey research. The data collected from the sample includes: The working-age population between the ages of 15-59 in health region 4 totals 230 people through a self-administered questionnaire during September to October 2022. A questionnaire consisting of 5 parts as follows: 1) Biosocial data 2) Knowledge of NCDs 3) Perception of NCDs 4) Health literacy 5) Health behaviors under the theory of 3Aor 2Sor. Statistics used to analyze the data include descriptive statistics, i.e., frequency values, percentage values, averages, standard deviations, and analyzing multiple regression equations with statistical significance of .05.

The result found that age, average monthly income, occupation, health check-up history, knowledge and health literacy about chronic non-communicable diseases affecting behavioral health 3Aor 2Sor in preventing the occurrence of chronic non-communicable diseases of the working age population in the health region 4, Ministry of public health (R²=.949) statistically significant at 0.05. The highest predictive variables was health literacy about chronic non-communicable diseases (b=.567). The prediction equation was displayed as follows:
