Factors Related to the Participation for Epidemic Prevention and Control in Coronavirus Disease 2019 among Village Health Volunteers at Pho Thale District, Phichit Province

Abstract

This cross-sectional descriptive research. was used to analyze the relationship between factors and the participation for epidemic prevention and control in Coronavirus disease 2019 among village health volunteers at Pho Thale District, Phichit Province. The sample was 280 village health volunteers. According to the analysis of the IOC of the questionnaire, the IOC is between 0.67-1.00. It uses the formulas of Krejcie and Morgan to calculate the sample size, and then uses simple random sampling. Select sample. The data were collected by using questionnaires. The descriptive statistics frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, maximum, minimum, Fisher’s exact test and Pearson’s correlation coefficient were employed as data analytic tools.

The results showed that 79.64% of the sample was female, with the average 50.15 years old. Most of them graduated from elementary school and high school. The average experience of being village health volunteers was at 10.58 years. Agriculture was presented in more than half of them. The village health volunteers were community participation for epidemic prevention and in the control of Coronavirus disease 2019. Overall and each aspect identifications, including Decision making, Implementation, Benefits and Evaluation was at high level. Factors related to the participation for epidemic prevention and control in Coronavirus disease 2019 consisted of village health volunteers experience (r=-0.051, p=0.012), knowledge for epidemic prevention and control of Coronavirus disease (r=0.133, p=0.026), perception of prevention and control measures (r=0.565, p<0.001) and overall social support and each aspect (r=0.757, p<0.001). The results of this study indicated that medical professionals promote knowledge in a variety of ways and across multiple channels as well as tangible support for epidemic prevention and control of Coronavirus disease to the village health volunteers continuously and appropriately.
