การศึกษาครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อประเมินผลสถานะสุขภาพของประชากรในเขตสุขภาพที่ 9 ตามตัวชี้วัดที่กำหนดและเพื่อเปรียบเทียบผลการดำเนินงานที่ได้จากการสำรวจกับที่ได้จากระบบรายงานกลาง (Health Data Center : HDC) การเก็บข้อมูลใช้การสำรวจด้วยวิธี Multi-stage Cluster Sampling โดยทีมนักวิชาการจากศูนย์วิชาการ เครื่องมือที่ใช้คือแบบเก็บข้อมูลมาตรฐานของกรมวิชาการ จำนวน 13 ตัวชี้วัด พื้นที่ดำเนินการทุกอำเภอใน 4 จังหวัดคือนครราชสีมา บุรีรัมย์ สุรินทร์และชัยภูมิ รวมทั้งสิ้น 88 อำเภอ เก็บข้อมูลระหว่าง ตุลาคม 2557- มีนาคม 2558 วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยใช้สถิติเชิงพรรณนา ได้แก่ ความถี่ ร้อยละ ผลการศึกษาพบว่าตัวชี้วัดที่ได้จากการสำรวจส่วนใหญ่ไม่บรรลุค่าเป้าหมายซึ่งจะต้องหาแนวทางพัฒนางานต่อไป เมื่อเปรียบเทียบค่าที่ได้กับผลการดำเนินงานใน HDC จำนวน 10 ตัวชี้วัดพบว่ามีค่าต่างกันเกินร้อยละ 10 จำนวน 6 ตัวชี้วัด แสดงว่าผลที่ได้จากการสำรวจมีความแตกต่างจาก HDC ค่อนข้างมาก ดังนั้นการสำรวจผลการดำเนินงานตามตัวชี้วัดที่สำคัญจึงยังมีความจำเป็นที่จะต้องดำเนินการเพื่อให้ทราบถึงสถานะสุขภาพที่แท้จริง
