Competency Promoting Process In Fundamentals of Nursing practicum of the Second Year Nursing Students at Suan Dusit University
Abstract
Nursing students are people who will risk to stress and anxiety from nursing education. Nursing education has character involve with people illness. When the nursing students must practice in the first time with fundamentals practicum. They should be receive process promoting competency for helping and supporting in practice to success. Process promoting competency were found with the eight items, as follows: 1) reviewing knowledge and training skill in procedure to fundamentals of nursing. 2) opening fundamental roomfor preparation in clinical procedure skill. 3) teachers give knowledge and closed supervision to nursing students. 4) making contact and making famaliarity practical unit, multidisciplinary team, and patients. 5) making good relationship with friends. 6) making competency in applied knowledge to practice for reduce stress and anxiety. 7) improve communication skills to nursing students and 8) teacher demonstrate practice with patient for nursing students competency. Process promoting competency are guidelines for nursing students and help them reduce to stress and anxiety in fundamentals practicum. Nursing students will effective adapt with another people in clinic and will success in clinical practicum.
