A Study of Quality of Life among Nursing Students, Eastern Asia University

A descriptive study research design to study of quality of life among nursing students, Eastern Asia University in the academic year, 2018. The sample size of 280 among first to forth years nursing students were analyzed by using the G*Power program. The questionnaire was research instruments consisted of 2 parts; the first part; questionnaire for collecting personal data and the second part; WHOQOL-BREF-THAI questionnaire. It was content validated and Cronbach's Alpha Coefficiency approached for reliability equal 0.923. The data were analyzed by using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and One-way ANOVA testing differences between pairs using Least Significant Differences.
The results of the study indicated that the undergraduate nursing student's quality of life was at a moderate level. When considering certain domains, the physical, psychological, environment domain scores and overall quality of life scores were at a high level among nursing second year students whereas the highest quality of life scores in domain of social relationship was found among third year nursing students. While, psychological, social relationship, environmental domain scores and overall quality of life scores were at a low level among first year nursing students whereas the lowest quality of life scores in domain of physical domain scores was found among forth year nursing students. Moreover, different academic year was found to influence the quality of life in relation to physical, psychological domain scores and overall quality of life scores. The results of this study are the information could be used as a guideline for instructors, advisors and nursing faculty to provide student about teaching and learning as well as activities that promote quality of life among nursing students in the university.
