Abstract

The 6-minute walk (6MWT) test is widely used for prescribing a cardiac rehabilitation program. The test performing require an appropriated walkway length. The 5-meter walk test (5MWT) was simple and concision test. From the few studies in agreement between 6MWT and 5MWT, this cross-sectional study aimed to investigate agreement test in gait speed between 6MWT and 5MWT in heart patients at the Suranaree university of technology hospital. The 19 participants were mean age as 62.63 ± 11.53 years. The gait speed of 6MWT and 5MWT was 1.00 ± 0.23 and 1.17 ± 0.22 m/s., respectively and the ICC was 0.89. The conclusion of this pilot study was good agreement between 6MWT and 5MWT on gait speed outcomes.  Further study should include more subjects.
